Do Mexican citizens have a problem with Americans claiming to be Mexican while outside the U.S.A.?

Not many Americans claim to be Mexican while outside the US, that would happen more with US Citizens of Mexican descent and probably only to get into Mexico. It is better to have an American passport than a Mexican passport visa-wise, i.e. less countries ask for a visa if you carry an American passport. I think that answers the question, right?
